ANOTHER LIFE IS POSSIBLE ! – Interview with Justina from Lithuania
Step 1: Focus and attention equals creationTed Talks, Three Steps to Transform Your Life – Lena Kay
Important to focus on what you want , what is your dream , what is your vision, what is your goal and stick to it.
Don’t be practical on step one. This is just about focusing clarifying what you want. Make sure you write it down.
Get very specific on what you want. Because the brain will give you what you want. Most people focus on their problems and they get more problems.
What you focus on , you are directing your energy.
So focus one what you want!
I am not happy with my life.. Is life such a boring thing? I just try to pass the days.. Drinking, partying and chilling.. It is like a circulation.. The same things happen and happen again.. WHAT IS LIFE?
Life is not such a boring thing. Believe me! I was asking and telling the same things. You guys just need to find out how to design your life!
I have been surrounded by people who are not happy with their current lives but afraid to take a step forward for a life that they would like to experience. I was one of them. There are two parts of this thing. First thing, you are unhappy but you don’t know what you want to do with your life. Second thing, you are unhappy and you know what you want to pursue but because of the society or the system just afraid to take a step for a new beginning.
Well, as a person who has shown a small piece of courage to initiate new beginnings in my life, I feel myself responsible to share my own experience and experiences of people who take a step out of the “normal life” or “system”. I believe that as far as we share our experiences the world will be a better place.
In short, I would like to say that ANOTHER LIFE IS POSSIBLE ! And in these interview series, I want to introduce you these people who said no to the life which is told or taught to us and pursue new beginnings.
This interview is with a friend of mine that I meet in the dorm that I stayed in Rishikesh, India. She has been one of the people who showed courage to live her life by her own design.
So, let me introduce Justina from Lithuania. She came to India two times. After her first 3 weeks in India, when she was back her home she decided to quit her job. This time is her 2nd time in India and she has been to India for the last 5 months.
Hope, story of Justina will help to initiate some steps for your new beginnings. 🙂
What is your name? Justina
How old are you Justina? 33 years old
Where are you from? Lithuania, but living in Ireland for the last 14 years
How long have you been in India? This is my second time in India. The first time was 2017 and came for 200 hour yoga teacher training course. That time I stayed for 3 weeks. And this time it has been 5 months.
What did you do for a living before coming to India? I used to work at a huge super market. I was duty manager and responsible of the biggest department of the supermarket where I used to manage 70 people.
Well, you came for yoga teacher training course in 2017. Before coming here for the training, had you done yoga before? When I was in Ireland, I used to attend dropping yoga classes. Once, a friend of mine asked me “What about going to Rishikesh and join yoga teacher training course?”. It didn’t take me long time to say yes to my friend. India definitely had never been in my travel destination list, but that time I said yes to my friend. 🙂 I didn’t say yes to become a yoga teacher but to help myself with my own personal yoga practice.
What do you do now?I am a Yin Yoga Teacher and Sound Healer.
Which type of yoga do you teach now?I teach Yin Yoga. The very first time I tried yin yoga was in 2017. I was trying to figure out which yoga style is for myself so that, those times tried different styles. However, I left the yin yoga class in the middle of the class that time. Because, I didn’t like it. Now, it is so funny that, after 2 years of that experience I became a Yin Yoga Teacher and I love both doing and teaching Yin. 🙂
Tell us what made you to come India for a second time.. Leaving everything behind selling your car, quitting your job..
I WAS MISARABLE AFTER I CAME BACK TO IRELAND AFTER INDIA.. YOU KNOW WHAT INDIA TOLD ME “THERE IS ANOTHER WORLD”.
Well, after my first experience in India, I went back to Ireland. After I came back there, I found myself in a miserable, unhappy period. All my friends, colleagues were aware that I was in a miserable situation. As recommendation of colleagues, I took a sick leave for 3 weeks. These 3 weeks helped me to think widely about myself and my life.
Before coming to India, I always used to travel around Europe. However, what I saw during my first time in India was “Wow, there is another world” and this opened my eyes. This place is so magical. Here I learnt “KARMA” and it really exists. 🙂 When I saw different perspectives in India and possibility of living in a different way, I just couldn’t do it anymore when I was back to my job.
Here, in India, nobody cares about any status, the way you dress, talk. So, all these experiences lead me to leave my job within 3 months right after I was back from India.
What did you do after quitting your job? And how did you prepare yourself or conditions before coming here for the 2nd time?
First, I moved to a smaller town because life in Dublin is expensive. I wanted to save money. I gave advertisement to sell my car. For a couple of months, I solely focused on myself. Everyday, I was reading, meditating,.. Then some time later when I sold my car, I bought one way ticket to India. When I was miserable at work, everyday I was searching for the ways to come back to India. 🙂
What are your future plans?
I just completed my second Vipassana Meditation. During Vipassana a strong feeling to leave India came to my mind and now I leave India to come back some months later. I don’t have any solid plans. But I will go back to Ireland to teach Yin Yoga and Sound Healing Classes there. Later, I want to move to Mallorca. But, as I said I don’t have solid plans or 5 years plans like as I used to do before.
FOR THE LAST YEAR, I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING MY HEART AND IT HAS BEEN THE BEST YEAR OF MY LIFE. SO, I WILL KEEP DOING THIS.
What is freedom?
- To be independent from anyone, anything,
- No emotional attachment,
- No financial attachment,
- No attachment to people, places,
- Do what you love to do with people you love,
- Never do what you don’t want to do,
- Listen and follow your heart!
If you try to express your feelings during these 5 months in India with a couple words..
People, full of kindness, full of love, compassion.. In western world, I have never experienced that much love from people that I don’t know. Himalayas.. When I was doing volunteering at Himalayas, I was surprised with spectacular view every single day! Mother Ganga.. most beautiful river in the world!
Well, what kind of changes have you experienced within yourself during these 5 months?
I used to be a really well organized, planned person. But now, I just let the life go though with me. I follow the signs that universe bring to me. When I come across different situations, instead of asking why it happened I try to understand the situation with questions and learn from them.
I DON’T GET ANNOYED WITH ANYTHING OR ANYBODY NOW .
Before, I always had high expectations towards life, people, situations, things.. But now, I don’t expect anything from people, situations, nothing at all. When you don’t expect, there is no frustration and that time peace and harmony come to you.
Whole life is a game and we should learn how to play this game. Im not the best but I am learning.
What were your concerns before giving this decision of quitting your job and coming to India?
I didn’t have any hesitations before coming here. I texted one of my teachers asking him, “do you think I am crazy? I want to leave everything and live in India for a while”. Then he told me of course not and I will have an amazing experience. So here I am.
Now when you look back, what do you think about this 5 months of journey?
I feel perfect. People in India are so welcoming and friendly. I didn’t expect to come across such a welcoming, warm approach from them. In May 2020, I will come for a retreat. This time I will organize it with my friends in India.
What would you like to tell people, who are not happy with their current lives but afraid to take a step in for new beginnings?
Follow your heart! I know everyone says the same. When I was told to follow my heart. I asked my teachers “How can I listen it? I can’t hear it.” I didn’t understand what my heart was telling.
How I found the way to listen my heart was through yoga, meditation, rebirthing , books, reading other peoples’ stories..
Keep searching, keep looking and never stop! Then, you will eventually hear the voice of your heart. Don’t know how long it will take. It took 2 years for me but be sure that you will find how to listen your heart.
Be hungry! Keep searching, keep looking and NEVER STOP..
